In traditional iron-core DC motors, magnetic cogging torque limits smooth rotation at slow speeds and compromises efficiency. Our development roadmap centers on the maturation of slotless (coreless) winding configurations. By eliminating the heavy steel laminations in the rotor, we reduce core losses (hysteresis and eddy currents) to near zero. This enables the motor to achieve up to 90% efficiency levels in footprints as small as 6mm to 35mm, drastically exceeding the constraints of standard brushed drives.
To support high torque density, Intertek is integrating advanced grades of Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB - N52 class and above) with enhanced temperature stability (SH and UH ratings). This ensures that even under continuous operational loads inside enclosed smart actuators or automotive subsystems, the magnetic flux does not degrade, maintaining energy transfer stability and matching strict CE safety requirements.
